Customer Journey Mapping Project: Scenario No. 6

Core Service-Book a Study Room

Scenario No. 6:

You are meeting your five-member study group in the library to complete a group project on deviant behavior.  You have been asked to book a study room for your group.  Your group will require a study room with a computer and a projector to complete some serious deviant behavior research.  Book a group study room that will meet your group’s needs.

Action Plan

Basic/Practical (easily and quickly implemented)

  • Add a link that says “Book a Study Room” on the home page and have the link go directly to the booking page: Update: Completed August 2014
  • The page showing rooms needs, to have a description of room contents.

  • Extend the time period before timeout
  • Add signs to walk-up computers identifying them as “Quick Work” stations (no log in required) for booking rooms, sending a print job, quick catalog search, check reserves, quick chats, etc: Update: Completed September 2014

Higher Level (enhancements implemented over a longer period)

  • Explore new room-booking software to replace the current system: Update- Released a new version at the beginning of Fall semester that addresses some of the previous concerns. In Progress September 2014
