Assignment Information

Throughout the beginning of the semester you will be responsible for independently locating and critiquing published articles that utilize quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research approaches.

Eventually, you will create a research proposal outlining the study you plan to conduct. The proposal should include a clear research question (and hypothesis, if applicable), a review of relevant literature, a detailed description of the proposed methodology, and a discussion of the study’s potential implications for special education practice. You should also address ethical considerations, including the potential impact of context, as well as students’ identities and your personal identity, on the research process and findings.
