The following best practices to make your LibGuides accessible not only ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act but also improve the overall usability!
LibGuides does have accessibility built in. If a student is using a screenreader, there will be a link in the upper right to view accessible version. You can also print guide or print page to see what the accessible version looks like. The screenreader will "read" the boxes down each column from left, to center, to right. Keep this in mind when placing content on your guide. This is also how a mobile device will display the content.
