When searching subject headings for DEIA materials you may encounter a heading that is outdated or sometimes offensive. It is important to remember that Libraries are institutions and fostering change on the institutional level can be slow. We use Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) which were first published in 1898. Below are some general articles addressing this issue.
