Doctoral Program - Educational Leadership: Books

Finding Books and Other Library Resources

The library catalog provides access to the library holdings of Appalachian State University (books, movies, music scores, CD's, government documents, audiobooks, and more).  You can search by title, author, subject, or keyword.

Title Search

To find out if the library has the book you're looking for, search for the title:

In this example, the book has a call number of JC591.M33 F74 2022 and is located in the Main Stacks.  Since the status is "Not Checked Out," it should be available in it's place on the shelf on the second floor.  If the book was checked out, you would see its due date here.

Author Search

If you know the author of the work you are searching for, enter it last name first:

Note that this item is an E-Book, and clicking on the link in the record will give you several options for accessing it instantly.

Subject Search

A subject search is more specific than a keyword search in that it only searches the subject field, not the entire record.  Clicking on a subject heading will lead to more items with the same classification, and you might find other possible subject headings to explore.

Keyword Search

A keyword search will give you the broadest results.  To search for words as a phrase, place them in quotation marks:

Cooperative Borrowing @ UNC System Libraries
