RM 4210 Senior Seminar: Finding Employment in Recreation & Leisure: Jobs by Geographic Area

This guide provides URLs and basic search steps for sites that list job openings in recreation and leisure. It also lists some print sources of job listings; these sources can be found in Belk Library and Information Commons.

Search Strategies

1. Visit the Parks & Recreation Associaton's Website for the state of your choice. Usually, the association will list available jobs.

2.  Go directly to the state, city or county's Website. Look for a link to Human Resources or Jobs.

3.  Access online newspaper classified ads for the city you wish to work in.

4.  Use job search engines like Indeed or Craigslist, and limit your search to location.  Most of the major job search engines allow you to choose a particular area of interest.

Directories of online newspapers

The links take you to the newspaper website's homepage, where you can probably click on Classified, then click on Employment or Jobs. Or, look for a box on the homepage that allows you to search for job ads.
