Searching for books

Below are a few tools for searching for books on Appalachian Studies. 

  • Library Catalog: Search for books in the Appalachian Collection at App State.
  • WorldCat: Search for books across many public and academic libraries, worldwide.
  • HathiTrust: Search a repository of digital content from research libraries, Google Books, and the Internet Archive.
  • Google Books: Search the world's most comprehensive index of full-text books, some of which have been digitized.

Requesting Books

Holds: Use the Request button in the catalog to have an item pulled and held for you at any library desk.

Delivery: Faculty can request delivery to their department and distance/doctoral students can request home delivery.

Books & articles we don't own: Request books or articles you can't find at App State using interlibrary loan (ILL).

Purchases: To recommend materials for purchase, email the library.
