School Administration: Web Sites

A research guide to library resources for students studying school administration.

Useful Web Sites

North Carolina:

NC Teacher Working Conditions

NC Standards for School Executives

NC Education Research Council - Has research council reports in PDF format for easy downloads. It also has a starter bibliography related to some of the issues identified as crucial for moving North Carolina to the top of the nation in education. You'll find another set of good links here.

Public School Forum of North Carolina - This organization maintains an excellent set of links, publishes some of its reports on line, and provides a weekly news subscription service (all you have to do is sign up).

Other sites:

SERVE (Southern Regional Vision for Education - a federal education lab) - Is affiliated with UNCG and has downloadable reports, solid links to other agencies, and current information related to regional education.

Achieve, Inc., - A nonprofit organization that helps states raise academic standards, measure performance against those standards, establish clear accountability for results and strengthen public confidence in our education system. It is, in many respects, the voice of the business community in the current standards movement.

Common Sense Foundation - For a progressive perspective on social policy issues in North Carolina, including education. They have a decent critique of the state testing program online; it can be easily downloaded.
