STEM & STEAM Resources: Engineering

Bee-Bot (Grades K+)

Cubelets (Grades K+)

Use Cubelets to:

  • engage students in learning about robotics and systems of interactions.
  • teach real world lessons like design thinking, complexity, systems thinking, perseverance, project-based learning, and collaboration.

Dash and Dot Robots (K+)

Teach students how to program with Dash and Dot, toy robots that make coding fun using apps on iPads, iPhones, Android tablets and phones

littleBits (Grades 3+)

Use littleBits to

  • teach circuitry and electronics, prototype concepts, and solve real-world puzzles and problems
  • facilitate interactive group problem-solving and teamwork, especially in conjunction with design thinking processes
  • complement makerspaces and classrooms, encouraging exploration, tinkering, and innovation
  • combine with a Makey Makey, Arduino or connect to the internet wirelessly for endless possibilities

Ozobots (Grades 3+)

Snap Circuits (Grades 3+)

Use snap circuits to learn about motors and generators, resistance and Ohm’s law, capacitors, transistors, oscillators, integrated circuits (ICs), electromagnetism, and more. Activity booklets are included in each kit.

We have the following kits available for use:

  • Original
  • Deluxe
  • Jr
  • Alternative energy
  • Motion
  • Sound
  • Light

Makey Makey (Grades 3+)

Use Makey Makey to:

  • teach programming plus kinesthetic learning
  • teach conductivity, electronics and programming basics
  • invent new devices, instruments, and controllers, or remix familiar objects (bananas can become pianos!)
  • provide students the opportunity to be engineers without needing to be experts in electrical engineering
  • participate in a creative design process to reimagine how one might interact with computers

MOSS Robotics (Grades 3+)

Use MOSS robotics to:

  • engage students in learning about robotics and systems of interactions.
  • teach real world lessons like design thinking, complexity, systems thinking, perseverance, project-based learning, and collaboration.

Lego Mindstorms (Grades 5+)
