Summer Camps: Library Tours

Requesting a Tour

Belk Library & Information Commons will take requests for summer camp tours for affiliated ASU groups and non-ASU groups. Every effort will be made to accommodate these requests.  However, we reserve the right to decline a request if there are scheduling conflicts, or insufficient notification time or staffing to make the necessary arrangements.

To request a general Library tour contact Ken Johnson (828-262-2776 or johnsnkw@appstate.edu)

To request tours of the Instructional Materials Center (IMC) or Appalachian Collection contact:

  • Instructional Materials Center (IMC) - Margaret Gregor (828-262-8088 or gregormn@appstate.edu)
  • Appalachian Collection - Greta Browning (828-262-7702 or browningge@appstate.edu) )

Please keep this in mind when requesting tours:

  • Requests for tours should be made as far in advance as possible, but at minimum 5 working days in advance of the desired date.
  • Groups of up to 30 individuals can be accommodated.  Group leaders should be aware of proper library behavior and supervise group members at all times.  We recommend one adult for every ten middle and high school students and one adult for every five elementary students.
  • Tours for summer camps will consist of an orientation to the Library building, its collections, services, and selected service areas.  Tours do not include database demonstrations, orientation to online resources, or instruction.
