The Appalachian State University Libraries provide free access to thousands of films on dvd and live streaming that are listed directly in the Library catalog by title and subject. In addition, there are many other sources of films available for free viewing, such as those listed below.

Academic Film Archive of North America. Free viewing of hundreds of historically significant academic and documentary films.

British Pathe Film Archive. Nearly 100,000 film clips and thousands of hours of programming, 1910-1970s. Wonderful footage of everything from World War I to film celebrities to children's programs.
