Physics and Astronomy: Citing Sources

CITING SOURCES

AIP Style Manual

To cite your sources, you might be required to use the style developed by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). Consult the official AIP citation style manual, AIP Style Manual (1990 ed., 4th ed.) for guidance in writing, editing and citing sources. Some sections of the AIP Style Manual are downloadable for free in PDF.

Additional tools to help you format your papers into AIP Style:

Reference Guide: AIP Style (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) -- Overview of constructing a bibliography and citing sources within the text of the paper using AIP Style.

Physical Review Style and Notation Guide (American Physical Society) -- In-depth guidance in preparing manuscripts for publication.
