What are Primary Sources?
Primary Sources are records of events that are described or recorded by persons who either participated in or witnessed the events firsthand.
Examples may include newspaper accounts, letters, diaries, notebooks, and interviews. Official documents such as statements, records, and statistics produced by governments and other types of organizations are considered primary resources.
Other types of primary sources may include photographs, audio recordings, video recordings, and artifacts such as works of art or ancient tools, and weapons.
