Call for Volunteers
WHAT:
Distance Education Student Advisory Committee at Appalachian State University
WHY:
This committee offers a leadership and professional development opportunity for students. Committee members will be responsible for exploring and reporting on issues related to Distance Education at Appalachian State, collaborating with each other on projects, and leading discussions on assigned topics. Time committment will not be overwhelming, but committee members will be expected to be adequately prepared for meetings.
WHO:
10-12 committee members will be selected based on percentage of students enrolled in each college; ideally representatives from undergraduate and graduate programs within a variety of disciplines.
HOW & HOW LONG:
We will meet via webconferencing for one hour. If needed, headsets will be provided.
WHEN:
2 times per semester for 2 semesters beginning Fall 2012
(meeting times will be decided by committee members)
INCENTIVE:
Each committee member will receive a Distance Education double-insulated tumbler and biographies of committee members will be included in the Fall 2012 issue of Distance Education newsletter.
