This guide provides URLs and basic search steps for sites that list job openings in recreation and leisure. It also lists some print sources of job listings; these sources can be found in Belk Library and Information Commons.

     According to the site, this is "an international employment directory selecting and reviewing world-wide top job sites. 4icj.com includes 2200 employment sites ranked by popularity in 190 countries and is a free starting point to find international jobs and work abroad." Sites are grouped by region and country, by category, and by name. Therefore, to find recreation, sports, or leisure jobs, you could identify a country where you'd like to work (Ireland, for example); then, in the grouping by region, choose Europe and then Ireland; then choose the category for Job Boards; then choose IrishJobs.ie; then, search this site for recreations, sports, or leisure jobs.

     Usually lists a small number of jobs, but the listings are up-to-date.

Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation. Jobs.

     This page provides current information, with links to the appropriate Web pages, for job and internship options with Alaska's parks. These include: state government positions; seasonal employment through the Alaska Conservation Corps; the volunteer program (for U.S. citizens who are not state residents); and student internships through the Office of History and Archaeology.

Alaska Jobs [with hotels and cruise lines]

     This site "offers hundreds of job postings in Alaska with Westmark Hotels, Princess Cruises, and Holland America Line. Job seekers can search for employment opportunities in fields ranging from guest services to hospitality to rail services." The site allows you to search job openings in Alask and the Yukon by: Location (these are linked to the name of the hotel, lodge, or service; example: Anchorage Westmark Hotel); or by Title (examples: Raft Guide (seasonal); Driver-Guide (seasonal). The site offers a signup for notifications of new job listings in up to 3 job titles or job locations.

American Camp Association. Employment Center--Jobs at Camp

     Under Job Seeker, click on: Summer Jobs at Camp, or Year-Round Jobs at Camp. 
     This presents various options, including: View Jobs; Post an Anonymous Resume; or Create Job Seeker Account. Alerts are e-mail notifications of job openings (in camps, conference centers, outdoor education, or parks and recreation) that match the profile you created.
